In 2019, Khaisy Sophabmixay's design clinched the award for Best Handwoven Textiles in Supplementary Weft at the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Textile Awards held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The honour was presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand, with Khaisy's daughter, Thidaphone Phetvongxay, accepting the award on her mother’s behalf. The artwork illustrates life in the rural village of Sam Neau in northeastern Laos. Measuring 2.98 m x 58 cm, the weaving took four months to complete.
